Day 1 – Arusha, 1 night Arusha Coffee Lodge. BB
On arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge, a small hotel located on a working coffee plantation on the outskirts of Arusha.
Day 2, 3, 4 – Katavi Nat. Park, 3 nights Chada Katavi Camp. FI
Morning transfer to Arusha airport to board a charter flight to Katavi. A representative from the Camp will meet you for your transfer to the Camp.
Spend your days exploring wild open spaces, see the last great herds of buffalo in East Africa. Take your pick from game drives, guided walks, fly camping for a night under the stars, or simply soak it all up from your tent veranda, perfectly positioned for panoramic views over the Chada plain.
Day 5, 6, 7, 8 – Mahale Mountains, 4 nights Greystoke Mahale. FI
Board a charter flight to Mahale. After a dhow transfer along the Lake Tanganyika you’ll arrive at the tiny sanctuary of Greystoke Mahale on the eastern shores of the Lake. The slopes of the Mahale Mountains rise behind camp, home to the world’s largest known population of chimpanzees.
With no roads for miles and miles, everything is done by foot or boat. If a day´s chimping isn’t enough, you can kayak along the lakeshore, snorkel or fish, have a private barefoot dinner on the beach or get friendly in the wildly thatched mess.
Day 9, 10, 11 – Selous Game Reserve. 3 nights Beho Beho Camp. FI
Transfer back to the airstrip for your charter flight to the Selous Game Reserve. On arrival a representative from Beho Beho Camp will meet you for a short transfer to this private luxury camp with panoramic views over the Rufiji River flood plain.
Explore on foot, by boat or by open safari cruiser the splendours of one of the largest game reserves in the world. Beho Beho´s experienced guides will plan your safari programme, whether you need time to relax and be pampered or need to do a 10kms game walk before breakfast in the bush. From sunrise to sunset, from early morning tea to sundowners.
Day 12 – Dar es Salaam. 1 night, The Oyster Bay. BB
A morning transfer to the airstrip will get you there for a scheduled flight to Dar, ‘abode of peace’, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 13 – Departure
An early morning transfer to Dar es Salaam airport will connect you with your homeward flight.
