Day 1 — Windohek, 1 night Hotel Heinitzburg. Bed & Breakfast
After a warm welcome at Windohek International airport, you’ll be transferred to the elegant Hotel Heinitzburg, for a relax rest of your day and overnight.
Days 2, 3 – Sossusvlei, 2 nights Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp. Fully Inclusive
Take breakfast at your hotel before boarding a light aircraft to Sossusvlei at Eros International Airport. An hour flight will take you to Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp, a comfortable desert refuge perched near the peak of a mountain.
Activities centre on early morning excursions to the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes. Wonderful desert breakfasts are served under camelthorn acacias surrounded by undulating sand. Afternoon nature drives or walking activities are enjoyed on the property where guests are free to spend time taking in the desert scenery and its unique fauna and flora.
Days 4, 5 – Damaraland, 2 nights Damaraland Camp. Fully Inclusive
Depart to Swakopmund on a scenic flight over the Namib and over Sossusvlei itself for an alternative view of the dunes from the air. Then due west to Meob Bay on the Skeleton Coast for spectacular views of the desert and the Atlantic Ocean convene. Once there you’ll be transferred to Walvis Bay Harbour for a boat trip (weather permitting) which will allow you the opportunity to view seals and usually schools of dolphins swimming alongside the boat. The group will return to the Harbour and following a delicious seafood lunch, be transferred by road to Swakopmund to enjoy a tour of this charming town. In the afternoon you depart on another scenic flight to Damaraland Camp (Doro Nawas is occasionally substituted)
The remoteness of the camp makes it an ideal base for tracking the rare desert elephant and catching a gemsbok, springbok, ostrich and other hardy desert animals.
Days 6, 7 – Ongava Game Reserve, 2 nights Ongava Tented Camp. Fully Inclusive
Another light aircraft flight will take you to Ongava Tented Camp (Ongava Game Lodge is occasionally substituted). Highlights are the game drives into Etosha National Park as well as night drives, nature walks and hides on the private reserve.
A special encounter is white rhino tracking - Ongava holds one of the largest rhino custodianships for the Namibian government in the country and is one of the few private game reserves in southern Africa that give one the chance to see both black and white rhino.
Day 8 – Departure
Departure from Ongava by light air charter back to Windhoek where the safari ends.
Departures operate every Sunday year round. Groups of 4 or more can book a daily departure, subject to availability.
